Just a quick post from WFC...
to enthusiastically recommend Nathalie Mallet's debut novel The Princes of the Golden Cage.
This fantasy is set is a world of sultans and sorcerers, jinn and efreet. Prince Amir, with a hundred other sons of the sultan, is kept prisoner in a palace where intrigue, murder, and poison are the least of their troubles -- a cursed spirit hunts the princes down, killing one after another. The only people Amir can turn to for help are the same ones who are most likely to kill him. Even if Amir can survive, he will lose the woman he loves.
I started reading it this morning, for a break after breakfast and writing, and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. It was fun, fresh, and fast-paced. An impressive book, not just a great debut.
